Valo Group receives the Business Recognition in the category "Hyperfocused on the Customer"

The Growth Collective has awarded the "Hyperfocused on the Customer" business recognition to Valo Group. The winner was selected in cooperation with the Growth Collective's main partner Varma. The criteria for the award included, among other things, exceptional ingenuity and creativity in business development and, above all, value produced for the customer.

The Growth Collective and its main partner Varma have selected Valo Group as the recipient of the Hyperfocused on the Customer business recognition. VALO Hotel & Work, located in Helsinki, combines a hotel, remote work facilities and conference facilities under one roof. The recognition was granted on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

The criteria for the recognition were the pursuit of significant growth and renewal through customers. The selection emphasised the creation of customer value, exceptional ingenuity and creativity in business development, and responsible and sustainable decision-making. 

“Valo Group has a unique dual-type service concept that combines a hotel, office, restaurant and conference room in the same space. For customers, this is a new way of thinking about space: a more vibrant hotel, a more homely office and a more networked conference center. Corporate social responsibility is at the heart of the concept, and VALO utilises maximum filling capacity as a service provider for accommodation and work environments. More services with the same resources save nature and energy, and the modular environment adapts to different needs.” This is how Varma’s Director Vesa Pörhölä justifies the choice.

Going global with the concept

From a customer perspective, VALO Hotel & Work focuses on service, community and social responsibility. The concept encourages its customers to networking, well-being and creativity.

The turnover in 2024 was 14 MEUR and the main market Finland. Now the company want to expand the concept outside of Finland, and VALO wants to develop from a hotel brand into the world's leading work environment brand.

The recognition was received by Hannu Holma, founder and CEO of Valo Group. Holma is a serial entrepreneur and has also founded, among others, Potius and the investment company Creo Capital, which operates in the real estate sector and in construction.

“We have a big leap ahead of us at Valo. Valo is what we want to take to the world, so it can be a platform for encounters. There are many companies out there and we want to offer a good working environment for all of them. We have a globally unique concept and to take it forward we need a lot of boost. This is a good milestone for that," Hannu says about the future prospects.
